USER FAQ

Hopper, before being a product, is a collective project.
Our mission: to support people with lower limb amputations (below and above the knee) so they can confidently resume physical activity!
We offer accessible sports blades designed to help reconnect with physical activities, starting especially with running. At Hopper, we support both users and healthcare professionals through trial days, adapted sports programs, video content, and practical guides.
But our approach doesn’t stop there! We also work on reducing production costs while minimizing our environmental impact.

The Hopper blade is for adventurers who have a thirst for movement, those who want to get back into physical activity, and those who want to challenge themselves on different types of terrain (and perform well!). In short, there’s no age limit to start running again, and you don’t need to be an athlete to try and get started (provided you have the green light from healthcare professionals).

Hopper offers two running blades. The difference between these blades lies in the minimal required socket length: starting at 24 cm for the Audacieuse and 19 cm for the Intrépide, allowing us to fit both adults and children! Each blade is available in 5 stiffness categories, accommodating people weighing between 35 and 110 kg. The choice of the ideal blade depends on several factors: socket length, weight, and experience/activities practiced.
To find your perfect match, we’ve created a simulator — right here.

The blade was designed for running, but it loves a challenge. You can use it for trail running, running, fitness, dancing, or even some jumping: it’s versatile, as long as the terrain agrees. The Hopper blade thrives on weather challenges. Rain, grass, gravel? No problem — it’s ready thanks to the sole co-developed with Salomon, a pioneer in outdoor sports! The only limit is the one you set for yourself.

To be part of the Hopper adventure, you first need the green light from your healthcare professional. Once approved, you can discuss it with your orthotist—we’re eagerly waiting for you! We’ll guide you step by step to submit your request. In the meantime, you’ll find all the information here to start a 3-week trial! See you soon!

Of course! Don’t hesitate to contact us. You’re never alone with Hopper! We’re here to guide you every step of the way and answer your questions. Both healthcare professionals and users have access to a wide range of resources. PDFs, sports programs, and videos are all available to help you take your first steps with the blade!

PROFESSIONAL FAQ

Challenge accepted! We love initiatives like this! Contact Alexandre, our orthotist, via our contact form! There are 5 stiffness options per blade, tailored to the user’s weight, experience, and activity. For active walking or sports involving weight-bearing, it is recommended to start trials with a more flexible blade. Increased flexibility promotes stability and comfort. If the user feels a lack of control or too much energy return, it is advised to choose a lower stiffness level than recommended. Conversely, if the user feels comfortable but lacks energy return, a higher stiffness level will be more suitable. Finally, it has been observed that a stiffer blade improves stability and comfort for bilateral amputee patients.
